For Swiss companies in the global marketplace, due diligence is still the name of the game

The Swiss referendum on the Responsible Business Initiative, which would have imposed mandatory environmental and human rights due diligence requirements on Swiss companies, failed to pass on Sunday 29. But with a majority of the popular vote in favor—not to mention the many other regulations being adopted across Europe and globally to enforce a duty of care—it’s clear that this is not the end of the road for mandatory due diligence requirements on Swiss companies.
