❤️ What were you thinking about on International Women’s Day?
I was thinking about my three girls 👧👧👧, and what the world will look like for them when they are older.
I was thinking about the women I’ve met around the world during my many trips in global supply chains 🌏 – and the stories they shared with me.
🌿 Stories about carrying their babies on their backs in tea plantations.
Stories about not being able to stop work on the factory line to go to the toilet when they start their period.
Stories about not being able to afford to see their children more than twice a year.
And the list goes on.
And I was thinking about the women around me. The many women around me. I love them. ❤️
International Women’s Day is such an important opportunity for us to pause and reflect. ✨
To help with this reflection moment, here are seven probing questions I think are helpful for companies to ponder.
1️⃣ Are we working to make AI work for women? 🤖
2️⃣ Are we ensuring the green transition works for women? 💚
3️⃣ Are we closing the gender pay gap transparently? ⚖️
4️⃣ Are we strengthening women’s pathways into leadership? 👑
5️⃣ Are we designing flexible workplaces that support modern careers? 💻
6️⃣ Are we extending gender equality to our supply chains? 🔗
7️⃣ Are we supporting women’s land and resource rights?
🌱 💬 Do you agree with these? What else would you add?
