One person can change how an entire organisation grows.
Human Level has grown. So much. 🌱
It started with one person, me.
Then a second person.
That second person is: Maddie.
I often say to Maddie that Human Level exists because of her. 💛
Before working with her, my experiences managing teams hadn’t been so great.
I’d fallen into a rut: receiving work, not liking it, re-doing it myself.
I figured, maybe the problem was me: I’m just too much of a perfectionist to work with a team.
Then I got extremely busy, and I made a leap: I brought Maddie in on my projects.
And it just… flowed ✨
Her research was detailed and rigorous.
Her analysis was sharp and grounded.
Her presentations were clear and confident.
Our collaboration felt exactly like collaboration should feel like: energising, trusting, empathetic, and greater than the sum of its parts 🤝
Ever since joining me six years ago, Maddie has flown 🚀
Here are just a few examples:
✅ She represents Human Level at senior company advisory councils
✅ She has led a number of human rights impact assessments, from Ghana, to India, to Mexico…
✅ She manages two team members, and oversees our advisory strategy
The growth of Human Level is inseparable from the people who’ve shaped it, and it started with Maddie.
Watching her grow has been one of the most rewarding parts of building Human Level. 🌿
Takeaway for all: amazing things happen when amazing people are given the space to step into their strengths. ✨
