I had a dream last night. 💤
It was one of those dreams that stays with you and lingers on, long after you’ve woken up.
It was like this. ⬇️
🌟 I was in a large courtyard. It reminded me of places I’d been to in the Middle East – with slabs of marble on the floor, and a pretty stone building in the middle.
I was on the outer edges of the courtyard looking in to what was happening.
I saw a group of people – from what I could tell, all men in black suits – huddled together – talking rapidly – getting ready to go into the building.
In my dream, I knew instantly who they were.
These were the decision-makers. The ones making the real decisions. The ones that ‘make the world go round.’
The political leaders, the major investors, the senior executives…🤝
Their group was closed – I felt it would be hard to get through to them.
But at the same time, I also felt some openings in the group. A few pockets of space where others could come in to the group, or where they could be open to other ideas.
All around this group, there were other people.
💫 They were beautiful – they were like floating in the air; some in groups, some alone. They were light and bright. They were dotted around, all around the courtyard.☀️
I felt: Oh! Here are our children’s children! And their children, and their children.
These are the people of tomorrow.
I felt excitement – some of these are my descendants, and they will never know it!
I also felt anxiety – what is their present like for them?
I looked around me, and there were people standing next to me – they were strong and well-defined in my dream.
They were you. 🌎🌍🌏
I knew these were the people who are working today on the topics that matter for the future. These were people from governments, companies, universities, foundations, civil society, etc.
I felt – although I’ll never know my distant descendants and they will never know me – we are connected in many way unimaginable.
And we still have an opening to touch their lives positively.
And we owe it to them to do that. ✊
And also, we owe it to them to live joyfully today, even as we carry the heavy weight of this fight for the future.
It was really powerful, and you were definitely in it.
